What is Surrogacy?
What is Surrogacy?
It is a method of transferring the embryos obtained in the IVF process, which is applied by using the own egg and sperm cells of patients who want to have a baby and cannot have a baby by natural means, to the uterus of another healthy and fertile woman. The baby that will be born as a result of this method carries the genetic structure of the parents genetically. The Surrogate Mother is simply the person who carries and gives birth to the baby.
To Whom Is Surrogacy Applied?
*Women who are not born with a
uterus*Women whose uterus has been removed due to compulsory surgery (tumor, myoma, cancer, etc.)
*Women who have had consecutive miscarriages
*Women whose uterus cannot handle pregnancy*Ashermann syndrome (in women who are not suitable for carrying a pregnancy even though they have a uterus)
*In cases where it is risky for the woman to become pregnant and give birth (women with serious heart and lung conditions, women with clotting disorders that
may pose a life-threatening risk).
*In those with a congenital anomoly.
Surrogate Mothers
* Voluntary women between the ages of 19 and 36,* All analyzed,* Having had at least one pregnancy without complications and having had a maximum of 5 vaginal births and 2 cesarean deliveries,* Without any infectious disease,* Socially and psychologically appropriate,* Not obese or anorexic,
* Not chronically ill.

Then, the egg preparation stage is started with the IVF treatment of the biological mother, which lasts an average of 10-12 days. If you wish, you can do this treatment with your own IVF doctor in your city or with our doctor in our hospital. If you do it in your own city, our doctor will carry out your follow-up online. With the completion of the preparation of the eggs, the egg collection process is carried out in our hospital.
On the same day, the sperm taken from the father-to-be is fertilized in the laboratory and the embryos obtained are transferred to the surrogate mother. The remaining embryos are stored by freezing.
Babies born with this method carry the genetics of their own parents, that is, they are the biological parents of the baby. The baby does not receive any genes from the carrier mother. In cases such as the absence of ovaries and / or sperm, poor quality of eggs and / or sperm, decrease in the number of eggs, genetic problems, etc., egg and sperm donation can be performed in addition to surrogacy. In this procedure, the eggs obtained from the donor by the IVF method are fertilized with the sperm of the father candidate and the embryos formed are transferred to the surrogate mother at the appropriate time.

These checks and tests are shared with you moment by moment.
After all the conditions are met, the uterus is prepared to proceed.
The treatment of the surrogate mother is planned together with the menstrual cycle to prepare her uterus for pregnancy.
